DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: Theresa Ebagua

Posted by Robyn Burnaford on

Ever since we originally created our Diversity in Design Style Board series, our new favorite hobby has become discovering new designers we love and sharing them with you!  This week in the Designer Spotlight, we're featuring Theresa Ebagua, the founder of Chelsea Paris {named after her two daughters}, a sustainable luxury footwear brand based in "European craftsmanship seamlessly fused with African-inspired designs, colors and prints.  Chelsea Paris footwear is built for conscientious free spirits who refuse to compromise."

Theresa founded the line 2012, which today is still all handmade, exclusively by European artisans.  "Each seasonal collection relies on a blend of time-honored Italian craftsmanship and modern technology to bring the distinctive fit, formula, and innovations of Chelsea Paris to life."

Recently featured in Forbes, Theresa studied at "Ars Sutoria in Milan and after graduating, completed a one year apprenticeship at family-owned factories in Italy learning product development, pattern making, how to make shoe lasts, dye leathers – all the many components that go into creating shoes."  She describes the line as "eclectic, elegant, sexy and sophisticated," an aesthetic that we think pretty much any footwear-obsessed fashionista can get behind!

You can officially consider us Theresa's #1 fans now - we're currently swooning over these chic Tux Loafer Boots, these sexy, strappy heeled sandals and we're pretty sure these sky blue mules are the must perfect summer shoe we've ever laid eyes on.  Do yourself and favor and shop all the stunning designs on the Chelsea Paris site - and you can thank us later!
