Upon discovering the line JIBRI by Jasmine Elder when curating our Diversity in Design Style Board series, we were immediately head over heels with the sheer amount of SPARKLE we saw in the designs. Sequins, metallics and anything and everything shiny will always be something near to our hearts, and when we learned more about the line's founder and designer, Jasmine Elder, we were officially starry-eyed, obsessed fans!
Founded in 2009, JIBRI is "all about glamour" and "creating garments for the fashion conscious curvy woman. Jasmine grew up in Atlanta and has lived in both New York and London as a student. She was introduced to garment construction by her teenage friend and mentor, Jibri Mann when she was in high school." Jasmine pulls inspiration for JIBRI from "travel, vintage cinema and underground culture" and the line has been seen on many high profile celebrities (think Tess Holiday, Gabourey Sidibe and Amber Riley, to name a few) and in the glossies (hello Essence, InStyle and Cosmopolitan!).
What caught our eye when we were shopping the JIBRI site? We're officially obsessed with all of Jasmine's evening wear designs like this black sequin jumpsuit, this high slit kaftan and this metallic fringe cocktail dress. We're also fully here for her Poolside Collection, including this bright yellow maxi dress, and this green lace maxi kaftan AND she even has a Bridal Collection that is so good we can't even choose a favorite piece!
