DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: Andrea Iyamah

Posted by Robyn Burnaford on

To say that Andrea Iyamah is one of our favorite designers would be an understatement - we simply can't get enough of her stunning swimwear, we're beyond obsessed with the waterfall-like flow of her gowns and jumpsuits, and her caftans are something straight out of our beach vacation dreams.

We first featured Andrea's designs in our Diversity in Design Style Board, and we've been combing her Lookbooks for our dream pieces ever since.  Her Spring/Summer 2020 campaign is full of bold jewel tones, structural belted swimwear and flowing jumpsuits that make our hearts skip a beat.  After reading about Andrea, we loved learning that she is not only self-taught, but got an early start to designing at age 17.  We loved reading about her straightforward approach to design, having said "patience and consistency is key. Taking things slowly and learning gradually from the people you are most inspired by will help you grow yourself and your brand. Know your strengths and weaknesses and never be afraid to ask for help. In difficult times, use the No’s as fuel for more strength and the Yes’s, as an opportunity to make the best out of."

On our current wishlist?  A stunning black and white beach look, this Bond Girl-esque peach two piece and a pleated white long sleeved mini dress that we'd wear just about anywhere.
